STEPHEN GUGGENHEIM
Founder & Producing Artistic Director
Stephen Guggenheim brings a lifetime in the performing arts to the creation of Napa Valley Stage—as an internationally experienced opera singer, musical theatre performer and music director, cantor, educator, producer, and director.
His performing career has taken him to stages throughout the United States and abroad, including engagements with San Francisco Opera and L’Opéra de Lyon, as well as appearances at Carnegie Hall and London’s Royal Albert Hall with the BBC Proms.
In musical theatre, Stephen has worked both onstage and behind the scenes, helping bring productions ranging from contemporary works to classic American musicals to life. His decades as a voice teacher and cantor have further shaped a philosophy centered on communication, storytelling, and creating space where every audience member can find a personal connection to the experience.
As Founder and Producing Artistic Director of Napa Valley Stage, Stephen leads the company’s artistic vision, programming, creative development, and community relationships.
